Week 3

In-class Work

Client working session: GRK joins by Microsoft Teams (~45 min) beginning at 4:15 PM. We will discuss what they want the site to do, whom they need it to reach, and what they can and cannot manage on their own. Complete the Nonprofit Website Worksheet together as a class. If we have time: writing for the web: navigation, scannability, omitting needless words.

Assignments

Keep working on the Web Rewrite Exercise assigned last week. Turn it in to the Dropbox by 9/15.

On Teams

• Whether you were added as a member or a guest, go to the Teams class and get familiar with it.

  • For those who still are having access issues, notify me ASAP so we can reach out to Acdemic Computing and try to sort this out before Tuesday.

• Create your 6 "buckets" in your team's channel. (Look at Group 3's channel—they have theirs done.)

• Read the posts in the Meetings channel. They will help get you up to speed on the disagreements between pro-hydropower entities and GRK and other anti-hydropower orgs. 

• Take note of the meeting schedule (in the Meetings channel and the calendar). 

• Note that the Web Rewrite Exercise exists both in D2L and in Teams. The actual submission goes to D2L. If Teams asks you for a file submission, go ahead and submit it there, too, but I'm hoping it'll accept a text submission such as "I turned in my Web Rewrite assignment to D2L." I don't want to create more work for you.
